Here we find ourselves in late August and the farm is producing like gangbusters. We are running at full steam ahead to keep up with the work of the farm. On any day of the week we are harvesting, washing, packing, weeding, seeding and looking forward to the next thing.
It has been an amazing season so far and the next 8 to 10 weeks is going to be even more so. The Fall crops are sizing up beautifully even as the summer crops fully ripen. Seeing a broad array of colors, shapes, sizes and flavors in our boxes is thrilling. Our hard work is paying off.
Fruit Share - This week we will have another 4# of peaches. The fruit share will be with your vegetable shares in the CSA Box.
Egg Shares - With the heat this summer our egg provider, Fair Farm, has seen their egg production dropping off. They are no longer able to fulfill the needs of our CSA. This week we are able to fill all of the egg shares with the addition of Sky Pilot Farm eggs. After this week we are going to need to move away from a confirmed egg share to eggs as an extra item. I will be working with Harvie over the next few days to figure out the best way to credit any payments towards eggs for the rest of the season.
After this upcoming week a caring amount of eggs will be available as an extra.
