The flow of summer crops is upon us.

Posted on August 2nd, 2019 by Michael Moss

Hello and welcome to August. This is an exciting time on the farm as all of our hard work of the season starts to bear fruit, literally. Our fields are full of carbon sequestering plants that are heavy with fruit. This runs the gamut from summer squashes to watermelons, peppers, eggplants and winter squash. Oh and don't forget the pumpkins! They are growing tall and setting fruit.

This week we are harvesting the first flushes of tomatoes. Let the tomato tsunami begin! Red and orange slicers and cherry tomatoes are available to include in your shares this year.

Fruit Shares: This week we will have the first peaches of the season and the final round of cherries. These fruits will be in your csa share boxes. The peaches are full cling and will be either PF7 or Rising Star.

In a few weeks time we will have extra peaches available for all members to add to their shares. Stay tuned as it looks like an epic fruit season.

Farm Open House - A big thanks to everyone that came out to the farm last weekend. We had a wonderful day of tours, conversations and food. If you did not make out, no worries as we will have another open house later in the season.

Thank you again for being a member of Kilt Farm.
