Farm Happenings for May 27, 2021

Posted on May 24th, 2021 by Jenny Jackson

With the arrival of summer temperatures this week, strawberries have almost come to an end. Its hard to say how many we'll have at the end of the week, so if there are any available I will send an email on Wednesday to let you know they've been added to the "extras" to purchase.

The changing seasons brings some exciting new crops though......squash, cucumbers, zucchini are part of the share this week, and on the horizon are blueberries, tomatoes, eggplant, onions, garlic, basil and more! Also the spring carrots have finally sized up. They're not as sweet as the fall/winter ones because colder temps bring out the sweetness, but delicious anyway!

Thanks for your patience with the slow arrival of these new crops. Its been a nice cool spring which has been lovely for working outside and perfect temps for the growth of spring crops, but has slowed the warm weather stuff a bit. Its about to start rolling in now though!
