ADMIN

Is a bin empty? Check underneath it for another full bin. We stack them in the frig.

Please don’t handle the tomatoes. Our new paper tomato boxes stay open so you can choose a box you like. Please choose with your eyes, not your hands. Do not touch or swap tomatoes. The boxes are recycled and also recyclable. You can keep your tomatoes safe transporting them home, or leave the box for us to reuse. Thanks!

HERB GARDEN FEATURE

Lemon Balm and Mint: We grow happiness! Lemon Balm is a happiness herb: it helps relieve stress and reduce anxiety, among other wonderful properties. Lemon balm is also frequently used in bug sprays. If it’s buggie at the farm, as it has been with this weather recently, you can take a leaf and rub it on your forehead or arms to keep away the bugs.

We could all use some lemon balm about now, don’t you think? The garden provides what we need. You can harvest a handful of leaf tops (the first few inches of a stem) to make tea. To prepare tea: pull the leaves off the stem, chop the leaves, pour boiling water over them in a pot and cover it, steeping them in the water for (up to) a couple hours. Strain and refrigerate for a delightful summer tea. We also have mint, another great tea!

Where to pick lemon balm and mint? You can U-pick some Lemon Balm and Mint from the herb bed. When you are looking at the Veggie Shed, this herb bed is to the right of the Shed. The mint is in the middle of the raised bed and the lemon balm is in the back of the bed. Smell them to distinguish them (we shouldn’t have planted them next to each other!!).

WATERMELON AND TOMATOES, OH MY!

It’s a sweet season. We have watermelon for you again this week! Such a gift from the earth. Last year, our watermelon crop failed altogether. It is so great to have watermelon bounty. Enjoy. If you or your kids loved the watermelon...I’m accepting farm love notes. Just putting that out there.

TWO LIMITED ITEMS. SEE EXTRAS FOR SALE

WATERMELON--no doubling this item. Extra watermelons for sale.

TOMATOES--no tripling this item. See Extras for tomato boxes and flats (as available) for sale.
