CSA Week #15 - Pick Up

Posted on August 25th, 2023 by Bonnie and Rudy Geber

It's a very welcome wet day, we're enjoying the new smells of rain on dry soil, rain on thirsty leaves, and even rain on compost! Today has been a mostly inside day, but we're all enjoying the change in the weather -- we even made hot tea for lunch! Perhaps the most fitting happening of the day is that we noticed some ripe (or almost ripe) cauliflower and cabbage, so while our earlier planting of fall brassicas seemed brutal because it was 100 degrees and the sun was blazing, it has paid off in that we'll be able to have some of those crops while the CSA is still going on.

It should be a rather refreshing market tomorrow, in the 70s. We look forward to seeing you all at your pick up location. We'll be bringing all that we can fit in our truck to market as we have A LOT of bulky fall crops to start selling (winter squash, onions, potatoes). Stay dry, but enjoy the shower!

Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie
