CSA Week #11-A

Posted on July 28th, 2021 by Bonnie and Rudy Geber

Garlic Harvest complete! Yes! We all took turns yanking and pulling over the past couple of days and got that garlic harvested and moved over to the curing area. We're looking forward to the scent of garlic wafting over the farm for the next couple of weeks, and I bet we'll find reasons to pass through the curing area just to take it in.

It's that time of the week again, time to switch and swap your boxes around as you see fit. While you're swapping, don't forget to check out and add our extras. We have honey from McLaury Apiaries, bread & bagels from the Gracious Table, and farm fresh eggs from the Miller Farm. This week, we'll have a few new extras available first come first served. We've got an overrun on beets, so we're offering them up at a bulk price in 10lb bags if you'd like to do some pickling or canning. Also, the gladiolus harvest has begun! It's not full force quite yet, but we are harvesting enough that we've got bunches of 10 available for your viewing pleasure. The great thing about glads is that they continue to open after being picked (as opposed to dahlias), so we pick them early when their lowest flowers are just beginning to open so that you can enjoy the rest of the show as the flowers open up the stem.

Have a great weekend!

Your Farmers, Rudy & Bonnie
