CSA Week #1 Customize

Posted on May 14th, 2021 by Bonnie and Rudy Geber

It's pick up time! Don't forget to grab your box o' produce this week and any extras that you may have ordered at your chosen pick up time/location!

Our pic for the week may look simple enough - that's Bonnie's Mom, Rita, weeding the salad beds. But if you look closely, there are actually 4 people in the frame and they're ALL doing some form of weeding. AWESOME! Bonnie is behind the camera and she was weeding too. We can't stress how monumental this is for our farm - to have the people and the time to be focusing on crop health on the day before market and our first CSA pick up! We really hope that this is a good omen for the season ahead, more controlled, less chaotic, more thoughtful and considered...basically more time and focus. Starting a business (certainly starting a farm) takes a lot of time and energy, pretty much for the life of the business, but especially in the first few years. Several years in now, we are hoping to start to be able to reclaim a little bit of our weekends here and there and doing preemptive work like this weeding afternoon is just the ticket for that.

We look forward to seeing you at your pick up this week. Please let us know if you have ANY questions about our CSA, how it works, how we grow, if you're having any trouble with the Harvie system, etc. We want this season of fresh produce to be fun and easy for you, and using Harvie in a way that works for you will make that happen.

Your Farmers, Rudy & Bonnie

PS. A lot of you will see bok choy in your boxes this week, while there are many great recipes out there, we are partial to simple stir frys like this one
