Hello Members!

This is your friendly weekly reminder that the Farm Stand is now open for orders (until Monday at 8am).

We have cut back on our predicted numbers for this week's harvest after a bit of a rough time this past week.  We lost some crops with the huge fluctuations in temperature and the high winds.  The hens also expressed their discontent by going on strike.  We searched everywhere, hoping they had just found a devious new place to hide their bounty but alas, they were working to rule (we luckily had just enough for this week's orders, thank goodness that Friday was a happy hen day).  Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us this week and we will have happy hens and lots of new veggie offerings for you next week!

Luckily, our indoor crops (mushrooms and micros) flourished and we have lots more started for next week, both for the farm store and the Brockville Farmers Market, which starts next Saturday!  This year we will have a third stand, dedicated to prepared foods and frozen meats.  Isaac will be joining us again with his sausage stand and will also be offering wood fire pizzas made with Harmony Farm-Fresh ingredients and will have a freezer with a selection of our frozen meats.  Please come and say hello, we love having a chance to meet everyone and hear your feedback.

We are still working away at trying to reduce our use of single use plastics.  You may have noticed our new reusable rainbow shopping bags in place of our previous plastic shopping bags.  Please remember to return your bag when you pick up your weekly order or leave it with your cooler on delivery day.  We are also offering refunds on (and will sterilize and reuse) kombucha bottles and have a goal to try making, trialing and (hopefully) offering reusable veggie storage bags.  Do you have other suggestions about how we can reduce and reuse with your regular orders?  Please share your ideas with us!

Wishing everyone a great week.

Your farmers,

Kate and Greg.
