Farm Happenings for July 18, 2023

Posted on July 16th, 2023 by Stephanie Bradshaw

Week 11~

Rain, beautiful Rain!  We have been so blessed this season with adequate rain.  Those of you who were members last year remember the hot, dry summer that we experienced. It was rough!  We are so thankful for all of the rain that we have been blessed to receive so far this summer.

This week we have tomatoes, lots of corn, and bell peppers to add to the mix.  If you are wanting to put up any corn or tomatoes - now is the time!  We will have bushel boxes of corn available to order.  The bushel box holds around 4-5 dozen ears of corn and runs $50. We have canning boxes of tomatoes as well for $40.  This is about 25lbs of canners.  Please email (farmhousenashville@gmail.com) or text (615-693-2519) to reserve your extra tomatoes or corn.

Our summer season will run through August 29th.  This will give you 16 weeks of the summer produce.  Our melons should be coming in soon - and they will last long into August.  Once our summer season breaks, we will pick up the fall season starting September 26th.  The fall season will run until October 19th. This will be a four week season.   You will be automatically added to the fall season, so there is no need to do anything on your part...unless you do not want to auto-renew.

Our annual Family Farm Day will be Saturday October 28th.  This will be a wonderful day to come see the farm in Scottsville, KY and learn how we grow your food, where it's grown and by whom.  Your children will love it -and so will you!  We will have a wagon ride around the farm, the opportunity to pick things that are still growing and take pony cart rides.  Come meet your farmers face to face!

We hope you have a wonderful week, friends!
