Thursday May 21st - First Delivery of the Season

Yippee!!  We are so excited to kick off our 2020 Season! 

Our spring shares will be filled with lots of the typical spring things - think romaine lettuce, strawberries and kale, spring onions, herbs and more!! We look forward to serving up all the farm fresh goodness that we can!  Our strawberries are just starting to come in but, we hope to have more coming in over the next several weeks!  Also, our shares will continue to grow in size as we head into warmer weather.  We will have lots of summer produce to keep you stuffed to the gills!

This is our first season to use "Harvie" - our new software system that allows you to put in your preferences before the season started and then based on what we have available, Harvie will take those preferences and build your share.  If you said that you loved something - you might see two of them, if you didn't set a preference for something or said you didn't care for it, then Harvie will not put that in your share....ever!  It takes some of the pressure off of us, knowing that you put in what you liked or loved and we can pack the box knowing that only the things you enjoy will be included! We hope this will help you to better use your farm share and cut down on any waste.

Please remember that we will NOT be sending boxes home with you.  Instead, please bring a tote or extra bags for your items.  There will be a plastic liner inside the box that you may take as well.  At our pick up locations, we will be spread out and ask that you check with the host to locate your farm share.  Please remember to practice social distancing so we can protect the vulnerable. 

Despite the rough start that we've all experienced with 2020, we hope and pray that the CSA will be a ray of sunshine in all our lives!  We look forward to filling your family with lots of fresh picked, nutrient dense fruits and veggies!  It's gonna be a great season!!

 

Farmhouse Nashville
Farmhouse Nashville was born out of necessity. As a mother of four young children, I desired to feed my family nourishing food, healing food, local food and affordable food. I was disheartened at the prices of organic and was determined not to feed my family food that was from factory farms and laden with chemicals, pesticides and shipped in from thousands of miles away! Was that even possible? Fifteen years ago I joined a raw milk co-op in West Nashville. It was a step in the right direction. Our raw milk farmer was an Old Order Mennonite farmer. We were thrilled to have found a source for affordable, clean, healthy milk. Finding organic produce in this same community was a lot harder than I envisioned. It is a myth that Amish and Mennonite farmers are organic. Only two farmers in this community are growing organically. After months of searching, I discovered Golden Rule farm growing against the "grain" of the community. They were convinced and convicted that organic farming was the only way to grow nourishing, flavorful foods that would heal not only our bodies, but the land. Our partnership was only the beginning of this story. We started offering CSA shares to friends and family in Lebanon, then Mount Juliet and today, we serve hundreds of families in Middle Tennessee. Our commitment to nutrient-dense produce, pasture raised eggs and meats is undeniable. We work together to offer food that is not only healthier but affordable for families. We believe that foods grown organically are naturally best, but we also know that foods raised without the use of pesticides, chemicals and herbicides are healing the land. We use trace minerals and nutrients to enrich the soil. Organic is good, but nutrient-dense is better! Come share in the harvest and see and taste the difference of Fresh, Local, Real Food!
