Farm Happenings for June 5, 2022

Posted on June 5th, 2022 by Marnie Chown

This is the last week of the spring shares!

We will be turning the corner and heading towards summer veggies soon. The cherry tomatoes are really starting to turn and we will have other crops becoming ready in the next week or two. We are getting excited for beets, red romaine, chard, parsley, stir fry mix, arugula and radishes!

baby beets starting to "size up"

The crew finished most of the spring planting including all of our heat-loving crops this past week. The peppers, eggplants, cucumbers and beefsteak tomatoes are now able to spread their roots in the soil! Woohoo!

We are very excited for summer veggies but we realize that our spring variety hasn't been what we had hoped due to the weather and our inability to get into over-saturated garden beds.

If you're greensed-out at the moment or the items we have available aren't appealing to you this week, please consider these options:

1 - swap some or all of your items for seedlings or a Fair Sun Farm insulated tote bag

2 - put your share on hold for the week and them email me to let me know (I can reschedule it to a summer week if you will be receiving a summer share)

3 - customize yourself a share of just a few items and then email me so I can add a credit to your account for the difference in value.

Enjoy your veggies this week!

:)
