Farm Happenings for May 29, 2022

Posted on May 29th, 2022 by Marnie Chown

Things have been a bit more normal around here this past week.

We understand that some of you STILL don't have power back, so please reach out to me if you need to delay veggies or rearrange your schedule for any reason.

Who's excited for tomatoes?!

We are working our way through the greenhouse crops now and making space for the cherry tomatoes to take over! They are gradually starting to ripen as you can see in the picture above. We will have a few containers available this week and many more in the week ahead!

Our field crops are about 2 weeks behind schedule due to the wet weather. There's nothing we can do about it other than wait!

The grass and our perennial shrubs are very happy with the moisture levels though....they are so full and lush right now, they like they usually do in July!! We have already pulled out the weedwhacker for some areas!!

The items we have available this week will be much the same as the previous couple weeks, so we decided to reach out to my aunt and uncle at Forman Farms to see if they had anything different we could offer. It turns out they do!

This week you will be able to swap items for some of their asparagus, chives or green garlic.

We will also have Sarah's items available including the last few jars of her garlic scape powder. Grab it if you want it!

Enjoy your veggies this week!
