Growings On 10/17/20

Posted on October 17th, 2020 by Kirsten Simmons

All the strawberries have been dug up! I've got two more loads of stuff to transport and two trailers to move, and then I'll be off the old property entirely! The crew celebrated by making flower crowns on the last day :D

Now we shift into preparing the new place. We put in a driveway and moved the shipping container last week; tomorrow the new walk in cooler in a trailer should arrive and we should have it wired in by the end of the week.

The goal for this week will be to transport the contents of a 53ft trailer load of cardboard to the new place, have stepping stones delivered, walk a grid over the new field to remove the last bits of trash and start laying down cardboard and stepping stones. I'm also hoping to peel a few folks off to retrieve the things we moved out to Wrecking Barn in the spring. The chickens went to a new home on Friday morning, so getting everything else out of there means I don't have to worry about it anymore.

In summary, first major milestone has been reached. Now to start chipping away at the next one.
