Early Winter Farm Share for November 23, 2022

Posted on November 20th, 2022 by Gail and Maurice Smith

Hello on this cold sunny day.  The farm has turned into a deer hunting haven.  The powerful winds yesterday and the river almost icing over produced some challenges for the hunters.  No one has gotten their deer yet.  A few excuses delivered....oh yes, reasons..... why there is no meat in the freezer.  Prehaps today will be more productive.  At any rate the landscape changed over night it seems.  We were harvesting one week then the next plowing snow.  The bitter cold came to early.  Seems like an endless stream of cloudy days.  The greens just plain stopped growing.  The weather forecast looks warmer with sunshine this coming week so maybe that will help.  i know it will help our dispositions!

Thanksgiving planning is under way.  We hope you are blessed with a bounty on the table and many around the table. We are going to concentrated on appreciating what we do have rather than what we don't have.  Friday after Thanksgiving Gail will start making winter wreathes.  The fun and creative times will begin with the harvesting of boughs.  This way the wreaths will last most of the winter because they are fresh. You can purchase one as an extra on the availabilty list.  We will start delivering them November 30th.  If you have a certain color scheme or theme in mind send Gail an email and she will do her best to create what you have in mind.  gail.dragsmithfarms@gmail.com

As always celebrate with gusto and have a great week and you are always welcome at our table.
