Early Winter Farm Share Week 1

Posted on November 9th, 2021 by Gail and Maurice Smith

Greeting to all that are attempting to enroll and participate in our Early Winter Farm Share.  It has been a journey.  We would suggest that you take a look at your enrollment data.  We noticed that many of you are not scheduled to receive your first box until next week.

November is a challenging month.  We are plagued with the adjustment of cooler days, super short hours of daylight, at least 2 holidays, flu/cold season, deer hunting, greenhouse preparation for winter, bough cutting for wreaths and patio pots and getting all the roots out of the ground before they freeze in.  Just to name a few.  Betcha could add more to that list!  Above is Jade, Michelle and Myda working to get the daikon radish out of the ground.  There were some so long they had to cut them into chunks to fit in the containers.

If you haven't done this Farm Share thing before, your next step will be to choose your veggies from the list.  The Harvie system will do it for you if you want or miss the deadline.  Next week leave your box at the drop site and we will reuse it for future deliveries.

As always take care and come to the farm for a visit.
