Early Winter Season week 5 of 6

Posted on December 6th, 2020 by Gail and Maurice Smith

The copy of the advertisement tells it all for our week of activity.  On top of the selling and delivering to our favorite restaurants and filling farm share boxes we added our Christmas store.  Eventually, we will have our store open in the Red Shed, but, with all the delays in getting important things like the furnace, we opened in Greenhouse 3.  It actually has been great for the public.  The sunshine makes the greenhouse seem tropical.  The ability to have fresh air helps people relax and just forget for a few moments about feeling so isolated. Each day, it seems, we add something new.  Some things were in storage after the tornado in 2019.  If useable those items need cleaning.  Wreath creations and porch pots are added as they sell.  Naturally, there is time to take Daryl the reindeer out for a spin around the fields too.  Sometimes you need to sit, visit, eat a Christmas cookie and enjoy at a safe distance.

Maurice made special arrangements with Sunrise Flour Mill to pick up freshly ground flour and grains last week.  Sunrise Flour Mill like many of us organic farmers have rediscovered the value of heritage crops.  The digestive abilities and nutritional benefits along with amazing flavor makes a premium product.  Check out the offerings in the Add Ons list.

The Reluctant Trading Experiment is difficult to put into a few words.  Each spice has a story behind it.  We are offering 3 choices this week to start with.  They are each a single source and fresh real food additives. Super interesting when you get Real!
