Farm Share Week 8

Posted on August 8th, 2020 by Gail and Maurice Smith

It took us like 4 years of having our "new van" to finally get the DragSmith Farms decals. Either our local sign guy was busy or the van was on the road.  Back in the day....last year....Maurice traveled to the Cities 3 days a week, the local area one day and went to get supplies on one day.  Well that seems to be in the past, so, now he can sport around in his fancy van and be noticed.

The past week at the farm was spent enjoying the sunny weather.  Comfortable harvesting, bug busting and washing up the field harvests. Since there isn't many of us to do the work we have to be on a harvesting routine and stick with it.  Preparing Farm Share boxes takes a remarkable amount of time and organization.  We are accustomed to measuring larger quantities, use a box and stick a label on it.  In preparing Farm Share Boxes lots of containers, plastic bags, labels, boxes, computer time and details in excess to tend to.  We knew as soon as Covid hit our lives would be different.  The call to grow good, healthy food seemed more important than ever.  We are hard at it and hope you are enjoying the journey.
