Farm Happenings for July 22, 2021

Posted on July 18th, 2021 by Michael Hoke

Happy garlic week! We'll be harvesting our huge planting of garlic over the next few days, processing them, and hanging them up to cure. In the meantime, we'll have fresh garlic available. We're really excited to be harvesting Japanese cucumbers again. They're super tasty, juicy and crunchy. We have lots of onion bunches again this week. Fennel is back on and we have an abundance! You won't want to miss out on our first harvest of mini red new potatoes! They are incredibly fresh and perfect for tossing into a pan and roasting with our herb bundles- no chopping required. Zucchini and basil are beautiful this week. This is a great time to make pesto zoodles! Of course, we have a variety of greens, vegetables and herbs available to add to your order. We also have lots of dry goods available, like organic Canadian-grown oats and chickpeas, to round out your order. We're still keeping up with regular farm duties and hoping for dry weather!

Fresh blueberries from Bluegroves are on the pick list again. Get them in season while you can! From Pfennings, we'll have Ontario broccoli and purple peppers!

Thank you for your continued support of Common Ground,

Sarah
