Farm Happenings for July 8, 2021

Posted on July 2nd, 2021 by Chris DeVries

It sure has been hot and wet this week! Having a larger crew really helps us to keep up with all of the farm tasks, like weeding, seeding and greenhouse maintenance. This will be our last week for garlic scapes until next spring! We've got lots available, so definitely stock up if you love them, or give them a try if you haven't yet! Our golden beets are looking beautiful and bountiful this week. We have an abundance of fresh zucchini and sweet bell peppers too! This is the perfect time to add these to your order. We've added a larger quantity option of zucchini as well! Napa cabbage is appearing on the pick list again, this time we've got lots! Our green cabbage is so great right now! It's both sweet and crunchy and delicious when enjoyed raw or cooked. Arugula is back on this week for the people who love their peppery greens. Newly available are bunched onions; these will include yellow and red tropea! Unfortunately, our cucumbers and beefsteaks are taking a break this week. We'll only have a limited number of seconds cucumbers available. This means that they may be scratched or differently shaped, but we know they're just as delicious as our firsts! Harvest time just keeps increasing, and we won't be slowing down anytime soon!

Thank you for your continued support of the farm,

Sarah
