Farm Happenings, Week of 8/14/2023

Posted on August 11th, 2023 by Melinda Hollyfield

Hey CSA Family!

We're sending a bittersweet farewell to our Veggie Manager, Tera! Tera has accepted a new job as the Food Access Coordinator for the Nashville Food Project. We're so grateful for her many years of farming and land stewardship here at Caney Fork Farms, and we're excited to see her shine in her new role! The Nashville Food Project is lucky to have her.

Alec Higgins, our Agroecology Manager, will be stepping in to Tera's position, and will be leading the vegetable department moving forward. Along with our skilled team of vegetable farmers, Alec will do an amazing job in growing your healthy, delicious, organic veggies!

For our Veggie CSA members, here are the organic veggies that you'll find in this week’s CSA box:

Carrots

Eggplant

Potatoes

Sweet Peppers

Specialty Peppers

Tomatoes

Herbs

Edible Flowers

For our Regenerative Meat CSA members, you will again have access to select cuts of our 100% grass-fed beef, 100% grass-fed lamb, pasture-raised pork, and pasture-raised chicken!

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Please double check your delivery schedule to be sure you know when and where to pick up your CSA. When you arrive to your CSA pick-up location, please check in with one of our farmers! If you pick up at RoKaBilly, please be sure to use the sign-in sheet.
  • For Veggie CSA members: The veggies in the Summer CSA are not customizable. However, you can use the customization period to add "extras" to your order. Try our "extras" today!

Let us know what you're cooking on our Caney Fork Farms CSA Facebook group and be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with farm happenings!

"Extras" are not always produced by Caney Fork Farms, and therefore, may not be recognized as meeting our certifications and standards.
