July 24th Happenings

Posted on July 24th, 2020 by Melinda Hollyfield

The gardens are bursting at the seams with yummy veggies, waiting to make it to your kitchen. Peppers and tomatoes are coming in hot. Root veggies are ready for harvest – beets, baby carrots and onions, yum! And a staple of the season, summer squash, is ripe and ready. Summer squash is one of my favorites because you can cook it so many ways. Try it grilled, sautéd in butter, baked in a casserole, or fried up into squash fritters. The possibilities are limitless. And in combination with the rest of this week's veggies, your meals are bound to taste delicious.

Note for Home Delivery folks– if your doorstep does not have shade, consider leaving a cooler or umbrella on the porch, so we can protect your veggies from the sunlight! This will ensure your veggies stay as fresh and crisp as possible.
