New plants in the ground at Atlanta Harvest in Ellenwood!

Posted on January 28th, 2021 by Raphaela Ysrael

Hey Family!

The first plants at the New Atlanta Harvest went into the ground this week! In our raised beds we have planted: collards, brussels, onions, cabbage, kale, chard; all wonderful winter crops that grow well here in Georgia during these colder months. Within the next few weeks, these babies will be all grown up and ready to be packed in your CSA boxes!

We take the environment that we plant our produce in seriously. You know us at Atlanta Harvest are always working on how we can be more sustainable and we bring this same spirit in our planting. The raised beds we built by hand, were built from our very own lumber cut from mature trees on our brother farm down south in Dublin, GA. Not only is it cheaper, there's less of a carbon footprint as the wood is sourced from our farm, rather than halfway across the country.

All of this has been made possible with your support. As we are gearing up for our re-opening in the Spring, we have so many wonderful goodies lined up for you. We are so excited to re-open Atlanta Harvest in Ellenwood and provide the city of Atlanta with farm fresh locally food grown right here in Clayton County.
