Farm Happenings for June 11, 2019

Posted on June 6th, 2019 by Emily Asmus

Thank you one and all for the patience, trust, and hopeful anticipation that brought us all through the 1st week of boxes. We learned a lot about how to make the Harvie system go. We worked out kinks at each pick-up spot. Ya'll forgot and then remembered eggs from the cooler. You added new reminders for the weekly CSA event, and initiated new routines at the end of a work day. Go Team Welcome Table!

Week 2 offers all of us more familiarity and more food. We've got a wider variety of food to choose from, and bigger quantities. This should make all the produce swaps and orders of extras possible. Items produced on other farms, like the delicious, small- batch jams from Miles Away Farm, and the eggs from Hacienda Zargosa will only be available as add-on purchases.

On the farm, we are still plating like crazy. This coming week we'll be planting sweet potato slips in the field. In the greenhouse we will seed many of our fall crops like cabbage and cauliflower. There are many months of good eating ahead.

Happy Eating,

Emily and the whole farm crew
