Farm Happenings for August 24, 2022

Posted on August 20th, 2022 by Trent Loewen

It’s summer this week! We’ve been enjoying the warm weather, eating outside and going camping on the weekend. This picture is just for interest; 6 varieties, 5 different colours of potatoes. I dug some of our specialty potatoes to see how they are doing, but they still need to grow some more. We will be getting some potatoes from a different farm, Randy and Tammie Burak. I’ll add them to the list on Monday when I know how much they have.

We’ll be picking the first bell peppers and jalapenos this week. The peppers really like the heat and the tomatoes are ripening fast. There’s some larger quantities of tomatoes and pickling cucumbers available for salsa, pickles or whatever you might want to make.

Your box will be built automatically with only produce in it but everything else is available to swap in. Besides the produce, there is beef from Barnes Creek Ranch, pasture-raised eggs, fresh baking (baked by my Mom), handmade soap from The Sudsy Llama, and our homemade ranch dressing.

As always, if you have any trouble with swapping or anything else, you’re welcome to call/text or email. Trent - 306-883-8832, Lois - 306-883-9289. Also the folks at Harvie are happy to help, reach them at support@harvie.farm.

Have a great week!
