Farm Happenings for August 17, 2022

Posted on August 13th, 2022 by Trent Loewen

It's for good reason that Saskatchewan is called "Land of living skies"! I love watching the changing colors and textures of the sky while working in the field, especially when a storm is coming. The bottom right picture shows the edge of a storm system that just missed us.

New this week - beans, green and yellow, and purple cabbage. Radishes, lettuce, and salad mix are back this week too. There's cauliflower again, probably the last week for it til later in fall, and bunches of fresh yellow onions. Peppers are starting to ripen, there's a few Hot Hungarian Wax ready, and the corn is looking good but is a few weeks away yet. Check back on Monday evening as we'll be updating the inventory then.

Your box will be built automatically with only produce in it but everything else is available to swap in. Besides the produce, there is beef from Barnes Creek Ranch, pasture-raised eggs, fresh baking (baked by my Mom), handmade soap from The Sudsy Llama, and our homemade ranch dressing.

As always, if you have any trouble with swapping or anything else, you’re welcome to call/text or email. Trent - 306-883-8832, Lois - 306-883-9289. Also the folks at Harvie are happy to help, reach them at support@harvie.farm.

Have a great week!
