This is the final week of farm shares! Other than for the early frost, it's been a beautiful fall! We're still digging potatoes and carrots, there's lots of salad turnips yet, and the kale is still producing. This week will clean out the lettuce and most of the salad mix. This is the last week for the... read more »

We've got fall colours here now! It sounds like the weather will be nice all week, should be a good time to dig potatoes. The onions, pumpkins and winter squash are all out of the garden already. We're still just digging the carrots as we need them, but they've had enough frost to sweeten them up. They... read more »

A frost doesn't mean the garden is finished, in fact lettuce is surprisingly hardy. We've had some survive -9! The children are... read more »

My apologies for the late customization email, we were on holidays this weekend, doing some canoeing and fishing in the Lac la Ronge area. This week the beans are ready as well as celery. We're also digging garlic so there will be fresh garlic too. Remember that the celery leaves can be dried and used... read more »

Summer is rapidly moving along! We're starting to pick peppers, both sweet and hot peppers. The "Carmen" variety is what we have the most of, they are a sweet, long, tapered 'Bull's Horn' type pepper. There's not very many bell peppers since they didn't germinate very well this spring. We also have Poblanos,... read more »

Do you grill your veggies? It's a new hobby of mine, grilling vegetables on a charcoal grill (it just showed up on our deck one day while we were gone. If anyone knows who it came from, let me know!) Beets, fennel, green onions, zucchini, eggplant, and cabbage have all been good, with only olive oil,... read more »
