Farm Happenings for August 31, 2022

Posted on August 27th, 2022 by Trent Loewen

I hope you're all enjoying summer as much as we are! We took time for a short but very enjoyable camping trip last weekend at Waskesiu Lake. We're busy, the days are full, but it's all good! With the hot weather we’ve been having, it’s hard to remember that summer will be over soon.

This week we have more peppers, onions, potatoes from Tammie, cucumbers, lettuce, salad mix, and tomatoes. The carrots this week will be smaller, the current planting we’re harvesting from got overrun with weeds so they didn’t grow well. The sweet corn is looking good so some should be ready next week. We grow Vision corn which has a longer growing season than a lot of corn grown around here.

Your box will be built automatically with only produce in it but everything else is available to swap in. Besides the produce, there is beef from Barnes Creek Ranch, pasture-raised eggs, fresh baking (baked by my Mom), handmade soap from The Sudsy Llama, and our homemade ranch dressing.

As always, if you have any trouble with swapping or anything else, you’re welcome to call/text or email. Trent - 306-883-8832, Lois - 306-883-9289. Also the folks at Harvie are happy to help, reach them at support@harvie.farm.

Have a great week!
