I am very humbled by all the kind words received after I announced that we were taking a couple of weeks off from Share deliveries. I decided to go with the option of offering everyone "double shares" to make up for the missed weeks. Thinking right now they will be sometime mid/late August but I will make sure to let you all know ahead of time. Once the double shares are set up in the Harvie system you can log into your account and switch the date of your double share delivery if you would like. Half Share members can even switch it to a week you wouldn't normally receive a share if you are concerned with being overwhelmed with too much produce. Thank you all for your understanding in this challenging growing season.
The crops are starting to produce again but definitely not like they would be in a "normal" year yet. One way we are mitigating this is by providing micro greens in the shares that we can grow in our climate controlled greenhouse. This week we have Pea Shoots and a Mild Mix. These are living micro greens growing in Organic Potting Soil and a compostable container. Just lightly water them once or twice per week and you can cut them just above the soil line to enjoy very fresh micro greens and pea shoots.
