Farm Happenings for May 24, 2022

Posted on May 20th, 2022 by Val Tachenko

And just like that May is almost over.  What a spring this has been!!!!

We had some snow brawls go thru yesterday and it wasn't very warm!!

Most of our planting is still in the hoop houses.  We will be planting out

seeds this next week if we can time it between wind storms.

The berryman that delivers to us in the summer is bringing fresh fruit and

vegetables out of California right now.  We will be offering some of these to

you as we get the season started.  These are conventionally grown in California.

The tomatoes are real good vine ripe field grown.  The cherries are small but taste

good.  They are very expensive this year due to all the orchards getting froze out.

We have Yellow and white peaches.  They are good for the first of the season.  Also purple and

green asparagus from Umapine.  We are getting really good strawberries out of California for

a couple more weeks and then the Willamete Valley after that.  You can preorder flats for $38.

The CSA boxes will be starting the 31st of May this year.  We will be offering the farm stand shares

every week.  The CSA members will be able to place their order 24 hours before the farm stand members.

All items are on a first come first serve basis.  If you have any questions please let me know.

See you soon
