Farm Happenings for August 25, 2021

Posted on August 23rd, 2021 by Alexander Admin

Howdy Everyone,

Hope you are doing well. Perhaps some of you are getting used to a new routine as kids go back to school and the summer winds down. At the farm this is becoming more of a reality for us as well, as many of our fall seedlings are beginning to grow out of their flats and will need to be planted in the field soon. Nonetheless, our summer crops are still hanging in there. A new one you will see in coming weeks, barring no tragic incident, are the Texas Creme Peas. These can be harvested when small and eaten like a green bean, or when a bit larger and hulled for the peas inside the pod! This versatility is definitely good for a CSA farm as it offers more harvesting flexibility. Also, we hope the recipes have been helpful for you. Kenny and I tried cooking with some and have found them too be quite good and a change of pace for many recurring summer veggies.

Thank you so much again for your support of the farm. You all keep us going! Take care.

Bethany
