Week Five is our penultimate week in the spring share! After Week Six we take a week off and then the summer shares start in earnest. Our summer shares are sold out but if you sign up for our 'Farm Stand' you will automatically notified anytime I have extra produce available and you can qualify for a 'first-come first-serve' one week share. I've had a number of people asking about the share schedule and thought I should let you know that you can view the enter schedule in your Harvie account under the 'Profile' tab.
This week you will notice some delicious extras available for purchase. I have added our pastured whole frozen chickens plus some exciting fermented foods from Funky Ferments. Funky Ferments is a small, local maker just outside of Mount Forest who is specializing in unusual fermented foods. You will see further details in the 'Extras' section but his selection includes: Rutabaga Kimchi, Beets, Minced Jalapenos, and Preserved Lemons. We have tested the kimchi and beets and they are delicious! Eli is the owner of Funky Ferments and he also happens to be who we bought this farm from!
Throughout the season I hope to include additional extras for purchase from local companies. If you have any particular product you'd love to get with your share or a small business to recommend, please let me know!
