Farm Happenings for November 27, 2021

Posted on November 22nd, 2021 by Jenny Berkenbosch

Hi Farm Box Members! It is time to think about what you might like to get in your last box of the fall.  This week we are listing our most flavorful potato, the red banana, and putting more squash into your boxes.  Feel free to substitute items and add extras as usual.  Our stocks are dwindling somewhat (thanks to our wonderful members and customers) so there may be fewer options.  For example, we are thankful to have been able to provide tomatoes for so long (starting in the 2nd week of August to the 3rd week of November) but we have officially run out!

Last week we started the process of planning our crops for 2022.  We hope that you will return for the 2022 summer box.  If you have auto-renewal toggled on (this is the automated setting, so unless you have turned it off, you have it on), you will begin receiving emails sometime in late winter to let you know that auto-renewal is happening.  This means that as a current member of our farm share, you are first in line to get signed up for next year!  Suggestions for next year are also welcome.  Please contact us ASAP by email at jamesandjenny@sundogorganicfarm.ca or by phone at 780 974 6249.  We would love to get your feedback.

Thank you all very much for sharing in our harvest this year! We wish you a warmth and light through the winter season.

The Sundog Team

P.s. We sell our veggies every week ALL YEAR ROUND! You can find us at our booth at the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market in aisle 7 each Saturday from 8-3 should you need a Sundog fix! There are tons of other locally produced items there as well; it's really a wonderful place to shop local.

p.s.s. The painting featured is a few farm-grown shallots by our own Jenny, who is exploring painting realistically after years of abstract painting.  You can see more of her work at www.jenniferberkenbosch.com
