First Plantings Outdoors

Posted on April 19th, 2022 by Ron Meyer

Is it winter, or is it spring? The weather’s ups and downs have kept us guessing, and the frequent rains and soggy ground have kept us from planting much outdoors. At least the garlic is growing well, as it was planted last fall.

This past week Ron managed to till our early garden and plant salad mix, romaine, arugula, and radishes. Hopefully we will get some warmer weather to help them grow quickly! And the seedlings we planted indoors are growing well. Some, like the kale, will be ready to plant out as soon as the soil can be worked.

This week on the farm stand we have fresh eggs, local honey, red raspberry jam and our grass-fed ground beef, along with other beef cuts. Our next delivery will be on May 5.
