One thing that makes a vegetable farm unique in a landscape of ranches and grain farms is how late into the season our fields remain green. This is a recent shot of one of our kale patches. The fact that we haven't received a hard frost yet means that we will still have a lot of green in the field for at least a few more weeks. Even though it is getting colder these plants are still photosynthesizing, which means they are still sequestering carbon. While we do manage a small land base compared to the farms surrounding us, it is a point of pride to me that we are able to continue to sequester small amounts of carbon while much of the landscape around us is harvested and then becomes bare ground.
Plastic Bags We are looking for more plastic bags to reuse at our pickup locations. If you have a stash of plastic shopping bags at home that you would like to repurpose would you be willing to donate it to your local veggie farmers? If so, please just bring them to your pick up this week.

Delivery Tips If you are receiving home-delivery, please leave a cooler outside if possible so that we can keep your food protected from the elements. If it’s cold, a full water bottle placed inside the cooler will provide extra insulation.
