The growing conditions this fall have been fantastic. I'm really exited to see my fall carrots filling in and lots of fall greens that are growing quickly. It is rare for us to get to mid September without a frost so while this summer's weather was pretty harsh, I am very grateful that things are going well for us now.
We had some hats printed last week that think are really cool and it feels good to me to wear them in public repin' Alberta grown vegetables. You can pick those up on our extras page.
I am also really excited to be partnering with two long time members of our program, Orlyn and Lori Kostenuk, to be offering creamed honey for sale. The don't use any chemical inputs in their hives and their creamed honey is extremely flavorful and smooth. One of the benefits of creamed honey is that it does not crystalize so it will always remain spreadable.
Away Next Week?
If you will be away next week don’t forget to log into your account by Sunday at noon to skip your box. Delivery Tips
If you are receiving home-delivery, please leave a cooler outside if possible so that we can keep your food protected from the elements. If it’s cold, a full water bottle placed inside the cooler will provide extra insulation.
