Farm Happenings for July 13, 2021

Posted on July 11th, 2021 by Mike Kozlowski

Hello there! It was great to see so many of you last week picking up your veggies. It is a great moment for your vegetable farmers to finally see you after having spent so much time working to grow this food for you. Thanks so much for your encouragement and kind words about the produce - your enjoyment of it makes our efforts worth it.

We are hard at work doing our best to stay ahead of the weeds while also harvesting, washing and packing for our weekly orders. New this week we have some cabbages ready to harvest. They are on the smaller side partially due to the extremely hot weather a few weeks ago. Sometimes I'm disappointed by a crop that doesn't meet my expectations in terms of size - it would be nice to roll into town with massive cabbages for you to enjoy. On the other hand, there is only so much cabbage that you can enjoy in a week and it would be unfortunate if these massive cabbages sat around in your fridge for a long time and went bad. In any case, whatever size these cabbages are, they will be delicious as they add to your meals this week.
