Sweating into week #2

Posted on May 20th, 2020 by Cale Sprister

I don't know about you, but I would much rather have cool weather than this hot weather we've had!

It was great to finally put faces to names this last week for the in person pick-ups. I hope that in the coming weeks I'll have more time to speak with each of you and not be in such a crazy rush.  That is really the heart of CSA; community support that goes both ways!

I did a quick farm walk at 5:30 am this morning to take an estimate of what I have available....It's going to be a lot of the same product as last week and unfortunately less of it at this point.

Looking ahead though, I am seeing lots of growth in some beds and I am feverishly planting every week! So hopefully soon I'll have more selection and have the ability to get you more produce.

My blessing this week was some quality time planting pepper and tomato starts with my second born son as you can see in the photo.

In case you were wondering I usually start to get tomatoes mid to late June and peppers soon after that.

I realize this is Memorial Weekend and many of you may be out of town for the pick-ups on Monday and Tuesday.  *****Please use Harvie to hold your share and we'll stack you up later in the season.  That way you won't get charged and I can spread what produce I have around to other members.

As always thank you for your support!

Have a blessed Memorial weekend!
