Farm Happenings for April 3, 2019: FIRST SPRING CSA!

Posted on March 29th, 2019 by Robinette Farms

Welcome to the Robinette Farms Spring CSA Season!

We are excited to have you along for this 8 week season of fresh greens and roots from our storage cooler and fresh from the fields!

So far, this spring has been a muddy one and we have not been able to access our fields to plant any of our early season crops. We are thankful we have our 3 high tunnels to help us grow food at this time of the year!

Right now we have salad turnips, radishes, spinach, bok choy, scallions, arugula, salad mix, cilantro, onions, and mini head lettuce planted in our hoops and destined for your plates!

The micro greens are growing like gangbusters and you can expect to see a couple bags of those each week.

On a weekly basis we plant our "Micro Salad Mix", which is a combo of pea shoots, sunflower shoots, and buckwheat shoots. This is a great salad on it's own or in combination with any other green! Also consider using it as a topping for just about anything: sandwiches, eggs, soup, burritos, tacos, quiche, you name it!

We are excited to have you along on this journey!

Don't forget to check out recipes and tips that are included in your weekly email from us! Each Friday you will get this email that details what Harvie created for you based on your preferences and then on Wednesday morning you will receive your final share list for your pick up that day.

If you meet me at Goldenrod be sure to bring your phone to access your list or write down/screenshot/whatever works best for you so you know what to grab off the table.

If you have any questions please email me at farmers@robinettefarms.com and I will help you out!

Thanks and happy eating!
Farmer Chloe
