Farm Happenings for July 10, 11, and 13, 2019: Week 6 out of 16!

Posted on July 5th, 2019 by Robinette Farms

Thanks to all of you who attended the Picnic On The Farm; it was HOT but we had a great time!

New this week in your shares!

Look for zucchini, summer squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes! Some of these crops are suddenly in full force production, while some of them, like the tomatoes are just beginning to trickle in to your shares, so be patient if you don't get them right away!

Some veggies that are on their way OUT of your shares:

This is likely the last week for broccoli, head lettuce, and cilantro.

Some veggies that are on their way IN to your shares:

New potatoes, more potatoes, and more fresh onions (and maybe some fresh garlic depending on our harvest!).

July is the month where we are planting ALL things fall! Think broccoli, cauliflower, fall chard, kale, celery, fall carrots and beets, and storage crops like cabbage and kohlrabi.

We are also continuing our successions of cucumbers and zucchini and as the heat allows, we continue to plant salad greens, head lettuce, bok choy, herbs, radishes, and turnips.

Enjoy the first summer fruits in your shares this week!

Happy Eating,
Farmer Chloe and the RF Crew
