Farm Happenings for September 2, 2020

Posted on August 28th, 2020 by Anna Bunk

Hello Farmshare members!

Mornings are already starting to feel a lot like fall around here... dew on the grass is soaking right through our summer shoes as we walk across the farm in the chilly fog. After the sun pokes through and shines for an hour or so it goes back to feeling like summer, which we are all happy about.

The onions and shallots have been pulled out of the ground and are in their first stage of the curing process: laying out to dry in rows in the fields. They will soon fill the greenhouse where the garlic has been curing.

Our zucchini plants are slowing down production and the skins on the potatoes are starting to set (still a little too tender to send through our root washer though). Although the signs of a seasonal shift are upon us, many plants are still growing vigorously and producing lots and lots of delicious food!

Enjoy,

Anna
