RP-Farm Happenings (Delivery #5 Fall/Winter out of 8)

Posted on December 28th, 2022 by Diane Riehm

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

The Christmas blizzard was like something we haven't seen since the 70's.

48 hours below zero and High WINDS can be devastating, as you probably know.

Here at RPfarm we FARED just ok!!

One small hiccup will occur for you with this initial customization email. We are not sure if two of the crops made it through the hard freeze and HIGH WINDS yet. Spinach and kalettes can take hard freezes but the wind with it may be an issue?

Remember we have a number of crops that taste sweeter with the cold weatherBoth may become available and be the BEST of the SEASON!?

GO BACK one more time and CHECK on Friday and/or Saturday to see if Farmer Phil is ABLE TO ADD more items. Fingers crossed...

The plastic skins on Five
 greenhouses are gone.
Only two had crops in them.

We lost the top off of Greenhouse #7 which had most of the crops in it. This means less greens available which is unfortunate for all of us BUT there are still lots of other farm products to choose from that we are fortunate to be able to provide.

Meet another one of the Farm Crew gals who's hands helps to make your box fabulous...

Pam joined the farm crew this past summer. She enjoys working outdoors, the flexibility of her schedule and most importantly the caring atmosphere at Riehm Produce Farm.

You may have recognized her friendly face as a Cashier in our Roadside Stand.

Married to her husband Fred for 34 years, they spend a lot of their free time showing horses, announcing at horse shows and bargain shopping at flea markets.

Although her family couldn't make it come true this year, spending the holidays with her 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren would be her Perfect Christmas Gift for next year!

Pam helps prepare your CSA Market Boxes during the fall/winter season.

P.S. We are BUNDLING a SALE with goat milk products that you CANNOT RESIST! Watch for it this FLASH SALE coming in January!

  • It is known that goat's milk can reduce skin inflammation.
  • Goat's milk soap can reduce wrinkles and delay signs of skin aging.
  • Goat's milk has the closest PH level to our skin. This helps protect our skin from invading bacteria and chemicals.

Warmly,
Farmer Phil, John & Diane Riehm
