Farm Happenings (Delivery 1 Fall/Winter out of 8)

Any guesses on Farmer Phil's favorite potato?

If you guessed Pinto Gold Potatoes, You are correct!

They are easy to prepare since all you have to do is slice them thin and fry them up with olive oil and a little salt and pepper.

Lots of hard work goes into getting your veggies perfect for you!

Last week we laid out some veggie beds all day and into the night to get ready for next year's plantings.

A cover crop of rye is planted in between. We will be hitting the ground early and the cover crop supports the tractor thus alienating soil compacting.

A bonus is it also helps with weed control.

Some of these beds are also laid for our fall/winter veggies too that will get covered with cloth to prevent them from freezing in the cold nights.

As you can see, the beds are laid and ready for the Spring!

Now that you are getting excited about your upcoming Market Box, make sure you are taking advantage of all the benefits.

Here's more about selecting products now that the season is beginning...

1. FIND your box size amount by clicking the green words ----> "View All Deliveries" from your account at Harvie.farm. This will show you the size you selected and also shows you the amount you will be charged for each delivery. Small is $49, Medium is $69, Large is $99.

2. You will be given a list of available products to choose from ABOUT 4 DAYS AHEAD of delivery. You can then start to swap/add items that you wish to receive. **If you are thinking of skipping, it is best to skip before you receive the "Time to customize" email.

3. MOST IMPORTANTLY you will want to fill your shopping cart. Be sure to watch the dollar amount you selected so you GET YOUR FULL VALUE. You can always go over your share amount and pay the difference.

4. THE BEST WAY to see what you've selected for your delivery is by looking in your shopping cart (top right corner). Here is the easiest place to change (+/-) the numbers of products you will receive.

We hope you enjoy the flexibility the New CSA Market Boxes provide. Thank you for buying local and supporting farms and food artisans!

P.S. Thanksgiving turkeys can be ordered HERE NOW! Start telling your friends about the Thanksgiving shares so they can get this one-time order too. Deadline ends November 10 at noon.

We appreciate your business and look forward to seeing you soon.

Warmly,

Farmer Phil, John & Diane Riehm
