Some useful tips we've learned together:

Learn techniques over recipes and as you start cooking more, you’ll become more comfortable with going off the script of a recipe. Learn some simple preparations and techniques like how to make a salad dressing or how to make vegetable soup, then these techniques can be applied to anything you have in your refrigerator. Knowing this technique can be a great key to brightening up what can sometimes be perceived as bland when it comes to vegetable soups.

In our Facebook Members groupLeslie Albanese shared how she started with homemade chicken stock, then put the chicken bones in a slow cooker with veggie scraps that she had on hand, overnight for for 8-10 hours, drained it, and use the broth for soups. See her full-story...here

Embrace leftovers, cook ahead. Cook, wash, and prepare in bulk when you have time and put the leftovers in the refrigerator.

Lisa Dick shared in our CSA community group how she used tonight's dinner for lunch prep. She too used chicken broth to simmer her vegetables, in this case using bean's until tender and added some bacon, because why not? They are so delicious!!

Enjoy the process of cooking it is a moment to slow down and enjoy the timeless art of nourishing our bodies and connecting with our families.

Scott Delaney shared, "...joining a CSA brought our family closer together…" Full-story at FunAcres.net

Be Flexible, learning how to substitute different vegetables or make variations of the same recipes to achieve different results is a way to keep your taste buds happy. For example with a stir-fry, you could substitute swiss chard or spinach for the kale, and swap out rice for cauliflower riced.

Be creative, have fun and share what you come up with in our RPFarm CSA Members 2018 community group.
