[RPFarm BAGS] EATING STRAIGHT FROM THE FARM

We are blessed to get a recipe from one of our restaurant sites for Fried Squash Blossoms from Chef Justin at M'Osteria, in Toledo.

Ingredients
6 - Riehm Farm Squash Blossoms, Washed, Dried and Pistol Removed

Beer Batter
1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup Cornstarch
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
16 Ounces Light Beer

Mix all Ingredients until smooth

Goat Cheese Mousse
8 - Ounces any kind of Fresh Goat Cheese (see extra's list)
4 - 6 Tablespoons Heavy Cream

Place goat cheese in a mixing bowl and let sit at room temperature until soft. Whisk in heavy cream a tablespoon at a time until smooth but keeps it shape when piped.

Method
In a medium pot heat oil to 350 degrees

Place goat cheese mousse into a piping bag and fill each blossom.  Dip blossom into beer batter and slowly place into hot oil. Fry until golden brown about 2 - 3 minutes. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and place on a plate lined with paper towels. Sprinkle with salt.

[RPFARM UPDATES]

** We wanted to let you know that we have been talking with a lady who does an awesome job with flower bouquets.

She grows them on her farm just up the road from us.

I have enjoyed a few small arrangements on my office desk.

Thanks to Farmer John's gifts that he brings!

This past week I had a big bouquet in my kitchen.

We will let you know if she's able to harvest for RPFarm's CSA Weekly Veggie Box members.

Sorry, No guarantee at this time. We thought you'd like to know the possibility of good things to come!
