Farm Happenings for July 6, 2020

Posted on July 4th, 2020 by Emma Rainwater

Hi friends! Hope you all stay cool this holiday weekend - we're in for a scorching week ahead.

Things are the farm are looking pretty good, even with the rainfall deficit we have right now. It's not quite a drought, but cutting things a bit closer than we're comfortable with. Thankfully we can irrigate a lot of areas of the farm but there are a few things that are hurting from the lack of rain.

I'm expecting we'll be out of greens mixes for a week or two, but we should see eggplant and tomatoes in the shares very soon as we transition to summer crops. The shallots are also looking amazing right now and I can't wait until they're ready to share with you! Peppers are a bit behind still, but catching up quickly with all the sunny days we've had.

If you didn't sign up for a flower share but would be interested in receiving a small bouquet with your share each week we still have some available as an add-on share! The summer flowers are starting to bloom and it's brightening everything up and making the bees and butterflies very happy.
