3 More Weeks of Veggies!

Posted on September 17th, 2022 by Brianna van de Wijngaard

I finally caved, and am sitting in front of the orange glow of a fire in the living room. I never actually feel that bad about it, as long as we have enough firewood for the season: it's very lovely and calming to look at! And the temperatures sure are dipping anyway: we will be covering up the last of the crops in the ground this weekend, as it looks like frost come Sunday or Monday. Also some more sunshine though!

I am adding more items in bulk to the list this week, as we move into our last 3 weeks of veggie box deliveries. This week's bulk items (listed as extras) will be:

- certified organic San Marzano paste tomatoes from Big Rock Ranch in 100 Mile: $3/lb (awesome for sauce and salsa)

- garlic from Buck Ridge Ranch & Gardens: $13/lb

- cured red and yellow storage onions: $2.50/lb (these will last until Spring)

- cured spaghetti, kabocha, and butternut squash: $2.00/lb

- red cabbage: $1.50/lb

- carrots: $40/20lb bag

- coffee from Uncle Paul's ON SALE: $15.50/lb

This is probably the only week we'll have bulk tomatoes, if you're looking to roast or can them! We'll have the last of the usual summer goodies to fill up the boxes, like greens, more radishes and salad turnips, broccoli, beans, zucchini, and eggplant.

The last week of boxes will be OCTOBER 3rd this year, so Tuesday folks will receive their last boxes on October 4th. I will update market pickups before then as to an alternative (the last Tuesday market is September 27th).

Thanks, everyone. See you next Tuesday!
