Welcome to Week 17!

Posted on September 17th, 2022 by Katherine Nietmann

Welcome to Week 17!

There are three deliveries left, including this week, 9/21 and 9/24.

We spent much of this week harvesting fall crops for storage, and we have a new crew member, Rachel, who is helping us stay on top of it all!  So far, we have all of our winter potatoes dug, and half of our winter squash is out of the field and curing in our plant house.  All of this bulk harvesting happens on top of planting for winter and our regular summer harvesting/washing/packing, so we're grateful to have a full crew for the next couple of months.

We are now offering a smattering of our fall crops, including a fresh crop of bok choi and komatsuna, as well as spaghetti squash, leeks, carrots and beets.  Though we haven't had a killing frost yet (which sweetens up all of the fall root and brassica crops), our fall greens and root crops that we have right now are extremely sweet and juicy for summer harvests, thanks to our robust irrigation system.

We are also making big progress on our new employee cabin!

Have a great week and enjoy the produce!

Beautiful winter chard and kale, next to summer basil that is still cranking!
