Welcome to Week 11!
The fruits of summer are truly upon us, as we have our full suite of "hot crops" to offer you this week: eggplant, bell peppers, snacking peppers, hot peppers, heirloom tomatoes, red tomatoes, paste tomatoes and cherry tomatoes! We also have an abundance of basil and cilantro to go with those tomatoes, and plenty of cucumbers and fresh dill to cool you down.
We had a productive week on the farm and were able to get caught up with pulling out spring and early summer plants in some of the high tunnels, and with no more summer planting left to do, our focus has shifted to harvesting and planting for fall and winter. Our winter chard and celery went into the ground in heated high tunnels this week, and we began cleaning our garlic to get it ready for storage (thanks to the help of Katherine's parents!).
We also have a new kitten on the farm: meet Jamal! He and June are best buds.
