Now is the time for our annual garlic dig. Did you know it all comes out at one time? We dig it, remove it to the barn, grade it, dry it, and leave it ready for braiding, single sales and so on. As of today, the garlic you get from us will be green garlic, with the exception of scapes. If you want to help get the garlic hung up in the barn, drop us a line!
Green onions are a kitchen delight. Whether as the main part of a dish or as a topping, they add the secret flavour many of us love. Watch this video from a CSA member a few years ago. And, if you've got too many, think of slicing them and storing them in the freezer until you need them. They don't come out with the same crunch, but the flavour holds well.
Blue Skies
We're off to one of our favourite little music festivals for the August long weekend: Blue Skies. If you'd like to check it out, this is a great year to get a day pass and come visit. They're available at Brian's Record Option, online until tomorrow or at the gate. So, Sunday pickups can be picked up Thursday if you are able, or Sunday self-serve only.
