Welcome to our 2021 CSA vegetable basket launch!

Welcome to Main Street Urban Farm's 2021 CSA. We are grateful for you sharing in the growing of food in Kingston by getting a basket of produce from our urban farm.

Harvie (farmer software designed to support farmers) makes our farm lives easier by organizing CSA payments, harvest, communications and deliveries. Harvie should make it easier for you to get local farm food by allowing easy payments, scheduling changes, item switches and so on. Do check out how Harvie works, and ask us/Harvie any questions - use the green Question mark on the Harvie site to ask support for help anytime. Also, join the Members Facebook page for more info, recipes, care for your produce and other handy tips. Katie at Harvie is available at katie@harvie.farm and knowledgeable to help you. While Harvie improves functionality, we look forward to in-person interaction with you farmer-to-eater! And, although Harvie does keep your credit card on file and offers Auto-renew, we pledge to you that for us it is only a simplification and loyalty option, never an attempt to charge you without your permission.

Last year we moved away from single-use plastics. We changed the way we portion items, and how we ensure they stay fresh until they get to you. Due to Covid-19 we've reevaluated how we'll pack your veggie shares. We will be supplying some items in reusable plastic bags such as durable ziplocks. Please wash and return all packaging in your bin/bag.

The process: We'll provide a Rubbermaid bin or Reusable Grocery Bag for each person. You are also welcome to supply your own, in which case you may supply two to save you transferring veggies each week. Bags: we ask you to use wipable bags, or ones which are easy to launder. At your first pickup/delivery please bring/put out either a clean Reusable Grocery Bag and/or a 37.9L Rubbermaid bin. At pickup you can choose to leave the new container/bag with your name on it, or transfer items to it. At deliveries, we'll drop your veggies off and remove the labelled container/bag you've provided. To receive your veggies you need to provide bags, containers, wax wraps and so on to pickup, or leave them out for us to pick up and pack if you're getting delivery. To make this easier (with 3 kids, we know what it's like trying to get out of the house with everything you need), we suggest you assemble several CSA ready bags/bins of packaging now so you always have one ready. On CSA day you can grab a ready bag, and in between pickups you can cycle the bags and containers from your fridge back into the next ready-to-go bag.

If you want to get everything in plastic bags, please write or call to make arrangements.

On the farm we are currently working to get all seedlings planted out. After a successful seedling sale over the past few weeks we still have some left for sale, especially loads of tomatoes. And we're on schedule with planting, so we only have the cucumbers left to go for warm-season transplanting.

We grateful to those who got an early share, AND welcome your feedback of any kind to help us make the CSA the best it can be to feed you!
